ROVSUN Stainless Steel Countertop Water Distiller 4L/6L

Great machine and very low noise from the motor. We have used a very old one for some years now (different brand) and the old one finally quit. But wow this Rovsun is like night and day better and with the accessories and catch bottle setting up for distilled water is a snap. I could have used this long ago but I wanted to use up my old machine first. Glad I found this one and I recommend using the cleaning powder to keep it clean. It's good and I'm happy!

Consistency and reliability. Very good.

This distilled the water in very little time, so I use it for more than I planned. I purchased it when we were having trouble purchasing distilled water in gallon bottles, but I have continued because it takes so little effort.

I use this for my cpap machine and it has saved me from having to buy distilled water from the store. I use a Wi-Fi connected block to set a timer for it to shut off at about 3 hours and 30 minutes so it doesn’t boil off all the water and prevent the crystallization process.

only one dislike with this product and that is how long it takes to make a gallon of distilled water. however' since i only use the water for my cloth steamer it's not really a problem its a great product.

My Husband goes through a gallon every other week. So this is a great savings for us.
The machine is really loud. We have it in our bedroom and run it during the day when everyone is gone because of the noise level. It heats up the entire room.
Cleaning it is tedious, & with well water, we have to clean it after each use. It Doesn’t take long, it’s just an annoyance.
But overall, glad with the purchase. Decent price and I’m not worried about post Pandemic shortages (that’s why we looked into the machine) and within a few months it will have paid for itself.

The taste is same as pure distilled water.

So, my other half is suspicious of tap water in general, I don't mind it. Still, with drinking, cooking and aquariums we make an average of 2 gallons a day and stock pile what we don't use right away. Distilled water was up to $1.30 a gallon when we stopped buying. Cost to make a gallon in electricity is something like 30 cents a gallon, cost of water is pennies. Been running ours 8 months now and only starting to have issues with the seal. Honey bun put plumbers Teflon tape around where the seal sits put the original seal back and its working like new. We still ordered a back up gasket just incase. We get cheap distilled water and some waste heat for that 30 cents a gallon. Win win! Clean it out every week or so with our water hardness. We are happy.

My distiller shipped with some extra activated charcoal packets, and a small container of "cleaning powder" (ingredients not stated).

The instructions suggest cleaning the distiller monthly. Apparently my tap water has way more minerals and algae than most, because I wind up cleaning it after every 3-4 uses to remove the significant mineral deposits.

And if I happen to leave the cooling unit on top after the distiller cycle completes, instead of removing it and wiping the inside dry as recommended, the algae left behind (which is found in virtually everyone's tap water) has a nice warm damp environment to reproduce in. Not a nice surprise the next day, and totally my fault.

The mystery "cleaning powder" neatly takes care of the mineral deposits and the algae. I just wish we knew what's in it, so we could order some more.
